Tribute To The Late Yinka Odumakin

By the shocking death of Yinka Odumakin, Nigeria has lost a patriotic and courageous social leader. Hope he is not a casualty of current nationwide strike by Medical Doctors. Only God can grant us the fortitude to bear this extremely sad and irreparable loss.

Yinka Odumakin was a prolific and fearless writer, and a public orator who stood for justice, equity, fair play and progress for all Nigerians.

He was a dogged freedom fighter who leveraged on the platform of Afenifere, a Yoruba Sociocultural Association, to seek for the orderly growth and development of Nigeria.

He fought fearlessly against military dictatorship and for actualization of the June 12 election of President Moshood  Abiola.

He also used his esteemed position to oppose Fulani hegemony, orchestrated by President Muhammadu Buhari which aims at emasculating and subjugating all other indigenous peoples of Nigeria.

He will be remembered for all the ideals he preached, stood for and died for, so that Nigeria will be great.

May his soul rest in the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
