1. CEO Change
Roger Brown steps down*: Retiring as CEO + Board on 31 July 2026 after 13 years. Joined as CFO in 2013, became CEO in 2020. Key wins: dual listing 2014, Eland Oil & Gas 2019, MPNU acquisition 2024.
-Effiong Okon becomes CEO*: Takes over 1 Aug 2026. 35+ years energy experience. Joined Seplat 2018, was Ops Director, New Energy Director, MD of ANOH Gas. Led ANOH Gas Project to first gas Jan 2026. Ex-Shell, worked across Africa, US, Europe, Middle East.
2. Chairman Change
Senator Udoma Udo Udoma retires*: Independent Chairman retires 31 Dec 2026. Joined board Dec 2023, became Chairman Apr 2024. Oversaw MPNU integration + 2030 roadmap.
Tony Elumelu becomes Chairman*: Takes role 1 Jan 2027. Joined board Jan 2026. Founder/Chairman of Heirs Holdings, which owns ∼20.07% of Seplat. Big name in African energy, banking, power, etc.
Seplat is lining up new leadership early to ensure smooth transition into its 2030 Roadmap. Both new CEO and Chairman are internal/promoted + major shareholder, so strategy continuity likely.
