Diageo Celebrates New Graduates at Lagos Learning for Life Ceremony with State Officials in Attendance

Diageo West and Central Africa marked the latest milestone of its skills development programme with a graduation ceremony for beneficiaries of its Learning for Life (L4L) initiative in Lagos last Friday.

The event brought together senior government officials and private sector leaders to celebrate the graduates. Representing the Lagos State Government were Feyisayo Alayande, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF); Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development; and Oluwakemi Kalensanwo, Head of the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education.

Diageo was represented by Adebayo Alli, General Manager for West and Central Africa, and Godfrey Adejumoh, Head of Corporate Relations for West and Central Africa. Shobhit Jindal, General Manager of Celebr-8 Lyfe, also attended.

Learning for Life is Diageo’s global skills and employability programme, designed to equip young people with training and support to improve their livelihood prospects. 

The presence of state officials underscored the partnership between Lagos State and Diageo in tackling youth unemployment and skills gaps.

The ceremony highlighted the role of public-private collaboration in expanding access to vocational and life skills training for young Nigerian.
